HR Administrator

Mint Velvet is recruiting an HR Administrator to support the HR Manager in all aspects of HR. This is an exciting opportunity, in a fast growing Company, with 350 personnel, to gain experience across the HR function.

The Role:

  • Responsible for day to day HR administration, of the entire employee life cycle including new starters/leavers, reference requests, sending employment contracts, updating contracts with variations to terms and conditions, monitoring absence and sickness
  • Monitor and maintain HR database and employee records
  • Pro-actively keeping up to date with employment legislation changes and maintaining and amending the Staff Handbook as necessary
  • First point of contact for HR queries
  • Provide support to Managers in disciplinary and grievance procedures, including note taking
  • Support Health & Safety Co-ordinator; updating policies
  • Support payroll with timely information of new starters and leavers
  • To contribute to the long term development of the HR function by assisting in setting up HR processes and drafting policies
  • Assisting in planning, and sometimes delivering, training
  • General administration

Key Competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Suited to an enthusiastic, highly organised, motivated candidate with exceptional administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate user of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent written communication skills with good levels of spelling and grammar
  • Efficient time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects and deliver under pressure
  • Suited to someone who is an excellent team player but can work unsupervised on occasion – demonstrating use of own initiative
  • Ability to work and use discretion with confidential information
  • Essential

  • Previous HR administration experience
  • CIPD qualified or working towards a CIPD qualification(e.g. foundation certificate or equivalent)
