Marketing Manager

We are looking for a Marketing Manager to sit in our dynamic, forward thinking marketing team. The successful candidate needs to have at least four years solid Marketing experience, preferably in a retail environment, a strong interest in women’s fashion, and affinity with the MV brand ethos. Digital marketing experience is required for this role. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate a working experience of email marketing and have strong written skills in fashion based copy.

Job Description

The primary purpose of this role is to support the Head of Marketing in delivering the PR and Marketing strategy across all channels of the business.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the PR and Marketing Manager in the implementation of the marketing strategy and the development of creative, compelling and engaging annual multi-channel marketing campaigns
  • Proposing marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness and sales
  • Plan, own and co-ordinate ad-hoc tactical marketing projects and initiatives, designed to support trade across the categories
  • Ensuring the different elements of the Marketing function, social media, SEO, PPC, content, PR, events, website, email campaigns, and print, are drawn together to create joined up campaigns
  • Seeking out relevant partnerships with complimentary brands and proposing joint marketing activity
  • Investigating promotional opportunities both digitally and in print, and preparing proposals for activity
  • Analysing both competitors and innovators on marketing activities online and in store, and presenting findings back
  • Identifying and monitoring industry trends
  • Documenting key trade periods (SALE, Christmas, Season Launch) across the industry and reporting on findings
  • Liaising with retail function to ensure the timely delivery of all collateral for season changes
  • Visit stores and work alongside the teams to develop regional marketing initiatives
  • Work alongside PR and Marketing Assistant on store marketing activity and events
  • Logging all marketing activity and reporting regularly on successes and lessons learnt
  • Assisting on the production and running of any events
  • Working simultaneously on a number of projects
  • Provide holiday cover for other members of the Marketing team
  • Deputising for PR and Marketing Manager in their absence
  • General marketing administration

Key Competencies, Knowledge and experience:

  • Manage the implementation of the Content Planner to ensure all content is created on brand, and goes live on time
  • Liaising with the relevant team members to develop content ideas in reaction to business, social or climate changes
  • Putting together creative briefings for the Digital Designer
  • Provide compelling copy content across a wide variety of mediums
  • Devising, writing and briefing articles for the MAGAZINE
  • Ensure that the rich content works hard and drives sales, reporting back on any trends and successes
  • Compiling documents for key marketing messages
  • Managing and owning the library all of all marketing collateral and reviewing the effectiveness of each element
  • Managing all photo-shoot bookings, reviewing the costs and ensuring all imagery is delivered on time
  • Sitting on Creative and Content panels and contributing ideas, initiatives and feedback at brainstorming sessions

Digital Marketing:

  • Create copy writing for SEO and PPC initiatives and owning these campaigns on the Content Planner
  • Seek out online marketing opportunities to raise brand awareness, drive traffic to the website and contribute names to the database
  • Driving and managing the affiliate program, seeking out relevant affiliates, providing content for campaigns, negotiating with affiliates for coverage, and reviewing and analysing the campaigns
  • Manage the retargeting campaigns alongside the Business Analyst
  • Driving Social media acquisition campaigns in tandem with the Social Marketing Assistant and Business Analyst
  • Working alongside the Social Marketing Assistant and PR and Marketing Assistant to put together an ongoing bloggers interaction campaign
  • Integration of website activity with the stores
  • Keep abreast of innovation and industry trends

Brand Handwriting:

  • Benchmark against innovators and competitors, and creating mood boards to inspire and guide the team
  • Forward thinking to ensure there is pace change with creative work
  • Ensuring that the tone of voice, words and messaging, and personality of the brand are consistent across all channels
  • Brand Ingredients- working alongside PR and Marketing Manager on the ongoing project to put together a set of rules that identify the brand through pictures, words, and tone to be used as a guide for all Marketing activity an communication touch points
  • Print management of catalogue and other 2D pieces
  • Relationship management of external suppliers for any print work
  • Manage company branding projects - packaging, stationary etc.

Personal Skills

  • Suited to an enthusiastic, motivated candidate with an interest in retail
  • Highly creative and commercial
  • Previous similar experience within the retail industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, email)
  • Efficient time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects and deliver under pressure
  • Suited to someone who is an excellent team player but can work unsupervised on occasion-demonstrating use of own initiative
