3 WAYS TO WEAR
The Pleated Skirt

The pleated skirt makes a welcomed return to our wardrobes this spring, but after months of being resigned to our skinnies, how do we wear it? Here’s our 3 ways.

Outfit One

Holiday!

From day tripping to after dark dancing, the pleated skirt is a holiday essential. Wear it on the plane with a comfy sweater and trainers (see look 2), or put it with your favourite heels and top for a night out (see look 3), it is so versatile. But for the simplest style, take your favourite slogan or stripey tee, shrug on a denim jacket, and some slider sandals, and you’re good for a day of sightseeing, al fresco lunch or lounging in the sunshine. Add a pop of colour with your accessories – a chain clutch bag works best, afterall you only need to carry your sunnies and purse!

Everyday Off Duty

Tick off three trends with one outfit – slogan knit (check), pleat skirt (check) and elevated trainers (check), and be extra comfy at the same time. Choose a simple knit, ideally in grey, navy or white, and add the interest with the trainers. An animal print is the easiest way to finish the look! Layer some delicate bangles on your wrist, and hoops in your ears to add some subtle accessorising. And, for those days you fancy a bit more glamour, slick on some red lipstick (watch our video on red lips here)

Outfit 3

Dressed to Impress

Work or play, the pleated skirt will add instant glamour to your look. Pick your favourite top – perhaps a shirt for work and something lacey for a wedding or night on the town, and add some block or pointed heels. Give it a rocked out edge by layering over a leather jacket (black works best). Keep accessories minimal – a simple clutch or cross body bag for your essentials should suffice. For an evening look try a rusty smokey eye or cat’s eye flick, and matching nails.
