Join us as we spend 5 minutes with Gabbi, our Henley Store Manager – she shares what she’s up to this month and reveals what makes MV boutiques so special.
What I’m wearing this month…
Trend you’re loving from MV – I love a wide leg trouser for summer and this season’s black palazzos are my absolute favourite. Styled with a shirt and trainers, you can wear them in any weather and they’re just so flattering for all shapes and heights – I’m only 5’3in and they still look great.
What you’re wearing on repeat – I am wearing my khaki shacket so much at the moment, especially for this in-between weather before the sun comes out.
Favourite footwear – I’m obsessed with the Joey Camel Chelsea Boots – the colour looks great whether you wear it with jeans or a dress, and I always find that the chunky sole really flatters and lengthens my legs.
“The feeling of friendship within the team radiates to customers”
What it’s like behind the scenes…
As a Store Manager, what’s your average day like?
Full of laughter, happiness and fun! No two days are ever the same, and we always keep busy with customers bringing us joy daily – it’s just lovely that we get to help others for a living.
At MV, we’ve always prided ourselves in our second-to-none, warm “boutique” experience – what is it that makes our stores so special?
I think it’s the feeling of friendship within the team that radiates to customers – we just love to share our knowledge and time with them, a little kindness definitely goes a long way. No ask is ever too big for us as we strive to make life easy for them – we also make sure we’re honest and helpful when they are unsure about what they are looking for.
How have you (and your regular customers!) found the store reopening post-lockdown?
Team Henley have loved the buzz of being back open and seeing friendly faces. It’s been pure joy to see everyone again.
On my list for this month…
A book I could read over and over again – How to be an overnight success by Maria Hatzistefanis
Favourite drink of the month – With the sun coming back out, it has to be a cold glass of Whispering Angel Rosé…
Favourite restaurant – Crockers, in Henley.
Any holiday coming up – No abroad holidays have been booked yet but I am off to our family home in Rock (Cornwall), which is always beautiful come rain or shine.
On my summer bucket list – If at all possible, I’d love getting away to the North of Ibiza for a yoga retreat… it would be great to relax, and see some beautiful sea and sunshine.
My definition of Relaxed Glamour…
“Relaxed glamour to me is the feeling of never having to feel like it’s a hassle to get dressed… like putting on a well fitted pair of jeans and a simple but beautiful quality shirt that I can wear from day to night by accessorising well and switching my shoes.”
