Learning to love January

Everyone’s sworn off the booze, we’re back at work, constantly cold, payday seems like forever away and, to add insult to injury, the top button of our jeans won’t do up. It can only be January. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy ourselves. Here are some reasons we still love January.

You can buy things for yourself

After months of buying only for your nearest and dearest, there’s no denying it’s nice to be able to treat yourself again. Go ahead and enjoy some guilt-free self-gifting. Happy New Year to you!

Ivory Ribbed Buttoned Jumper

We know payday seems like forever away, but in the meantime, there’s always…

January is the best time to score a bargain, so sit down, make a list and start shaping up your 2019 wardrobe. A new coat will be worn for a couple of months now, and plenty more come the end of the year, while you’ll thank yourself in a few months’ time when your holiday wardrobe is pretty much sorted with some savvy, summer-ready buys.

Newfound positivity

Even if you’re skipping the New Year’s resolutions and ignoring the onslaught of overly optimistic mantras for a whole new you, there’s no denying that January does magically alter our mindset. Make the most of the fresh energy a new year, plus a little festive downtime, has brought and channel it into getting all those things you were putting off in 2018 done and dusted.

It’s time to get Hyggely

Yes, it’s cold. Yes, it’s dark. Yes, we are, quite literally, in the bleak mid-winter. But that means we need to be more Scandi and embrace some serious Hygge in our life. Make every evening a ritual when you step through the front door. Light some candles, invite friends over for a nibble and a natter and snuggle under a throw in your favourite loungewear (Psst! Ours is on sale).
