What to do when you’re in a winter style rut

January is a funny time of year. It’s a month to look forwards and plan exciting new things, yet the continuing cold weather can make it feel like our wardrobes are stuck in a rut. Although it’s definitely not time to start shedding the layers we’ve been wrapping up in since October, there are a few wardrobe remedies that can reinvigorate what you wear day to day. Here are five tricks to kick your winter style rut.

 

1. Add trainers to an unexpected look

From sleek white court shoes to chunky, thick-soled styles, trainers are everywhere this season – putting comfort firmly back on the cool list. If you’re looking to shake up your look, we suggest swapping your trusty ankle boots for a new pair of sneakers. 2. Try a new denim shape

This season’s trends mean pretty much any trouser shape is permitted, so we strongly encourage experimentation to find a new one that works for you. If you’re really feeling wardrobe fatigue setting in, it’s time to shake up your existing formulas. If you normally reach for a dress each day, why not swap in a jumpsuit once or twice a week?
