Meet Coral Golding, mother of two and co-founder of 42 Juice, who lives in Brighton with her daughters Ava and Sufi.
Here they are wearing our new season collections in their hometown…
Describe yourself in 3 words
Emotional, motivated and impatient.
Why did you choose to live in Brighton?
We grew up in Manchester and used to come and visit family that lived down here and my mum just used to love us all being by the sea, so we decided to pack up and move.
What do you love about Brighton?
I love how colourful it is, there always seems to be something going on here. We often go for early evening walks on the beach and there are break dancers or some kind of cool performers practising – which I think is so great for the kids to see.
What’s your go-to autumn style advice?
Invest in a few pieces that you can wear with everything. I’ll always make sure I’ve got a good pair of boots and a good jacket that you will wear time and time again and always feel good.
What are your favourite pieces from the shoot?
I think the leather jacket with the caramel faux fur and the leopard print dress are my favourite pieces from the shoot – they are both SO versatile.
What does relaxed glamour mean to you?
Relaxed glamour is by far my favourite style of dressing – I think it’s about having a mixture of pieces that balance each other out. So if you are going to wear a dress then pair it with some chunky boots or trainers, and if you fancy heels then balance it out with a cool leather jacket and jeans… It’s a style that always works.
How do you balance being a mum and working?
I’m really lucky that I have my mum around a lot to help us out! I don’t know how we would have done any of it without her if I’m totally honest!
Three secret Brighton top tips?
1. The best places to take young kids are either Yellow Wave on Madeira Drive or Sussex Mother just outside Brighton.
2. Best Coffee is at Wolfox – it’s organic and they have the coolest spots in town.
3. My fave place to shop is Our Daily Edit in the South Lanes.
How did you start your business?
My friend Natalie and I started 42 Juice after my brother (her now husband) was seriously ill in hospital and we saw such a difference in his health when he started eating healthier and juicing. We then went on the game show ‘The Million Pound Drop’ and won some money! So, we were able to start the business… It was such a fun experience.
Who has inspired you most in your career?
When I feel a bit uninspired I listen to a motivational podcast or watch something with Tony Robbins and it always seems to shift my mind-set!
What are you currently working on?
There are some exciting things in the pipeline but in the early stages at the moment, so stay tuned…
Best piece of life advice you’ve ever been given
Something that has COMPLETELY changed my life was reading the book “The 5am Club” by Robin Sharma. Waking up early and having a morning practice before the craziness of the day begins has made me such a happier more patient person as I feel so much more prepared and calm – and the feeling honestly stays with you all day.
What do you do to relax?
I find the best way to relax is by going to a yoga class… No matter how I feel when I walk in I will always be glad that I went. My favourite yoga is Kundalini as it’s so powerful and I feel so blissed out, calm and positive after I’ve practiced. I’m also trying to relax by having an hour before bed of no screens so that I read or have a magnesium bath and just look after myself a bit more, I find that also changes how I wake up the next day rather than just falling into bed after scrolling on my phone or watching TV.
